Extremities of the 'B' and the 'L' do not show extrusion. This works no better than adding 'shadow' in layer effects in the much older version of Photoshop that I am using

My PS crashes when I merge 3D layers very frustrating. I don't know what to do.
I tried it at least 6 times and every time crashes at the same time when I try to merge both 3D layes

The results are great but even in the early stages of following these steps, my screen does not look the same. I am using the latest subscription version of PhotoShop. I get stuck as early as "click the 3D text" at 0:48. I have the same cursor and the same mode, but when I click on the text nothing is selected. I also do not see the background grid shown here. This is the first time I am using 3D functionality so maybe my lack of experience is an issue, but still, a click is a click.
Also, she is speaking very fast and not enunciating clearly for a non-native English speaker. I have to play this at 0.75 speed to understand everything.

For everyone who gets to 3:01 and it crashes, I had the same problem and upgraded to 2020 version 21 per Adobes instruction as they said the issue was fixed in version 21 and they are correct, it no longer crashes on me but you only have two option now: "Base color" and "Interior color".

This great, thank you! Quick question, the ground plane seems straight forward but, what if you need to put the word a big 3D sign on the side of a building or picture frame on the wall and have the light actually cast shadows on the wall not ground? Of course, the background would be a perspective photo of a building or interior. Thank you again!
