Thanks for tuning in team! Like I said in the video, DaVinci Resolve is super powerful especially given there is a great free version so getting you up to speed and getting you editing right away is my number 1 focus in this guide. If you want to learn more about my actual creative process when editing, then check out the more in depth look here! 😀 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4m4SSw_qGds&t=256s
@DavidMacVicar
Confused on the copy grade (to all the other clips portion). Can't you just copy and paste the grading (command+C, command+V) to the other clips without generating the still?
@allexm
I followed these instructions (which are great btw!) and everything worked fine, but the next day when I opened my project again the audio had become really distorted, sort of robotic and doubled… I tried deleting and installing the whole DaVinci again but the audio is still messed up. What could have caused this? It sounds fine when i let it play by hitting the spacebar, but when I play it in slowmo by dragging the red progress line the distortion happens even though it worked fine yesterday

THANKYOUUUUU SIRRR
@generic........
Great guide!
Just picked this up after spending 2 years hating Premiere, and am absolutely loving the program!
Everything just works in DaVinci, compared to PP (premiere "pro") where you run into glitches, slow loading times, audio import bugs, and overall terrible quality… And I payed $500 annually for the adobe crap XD
Anyways, DaVinci is clearly more professional, works better, and is more user-friendly (as far as workflow goes) than PP, so I guess I'm never looking back! 🙂
@indokiwifilms15
really good

Hi, I have loads of my parents old VHS videos converted in digital format- Both video & audio quality are very poor, so can I use DaVinci or any other app to enhance the video quality (perhaps using AI) and most important, is enhance the audio quality. It will really be a great help if you can assist. I don't mind buying a paid app. I use a Mac.

I've been using Cyberlink Power Director for the last 5 years and what I am using it for is more than I need. I use it to edit my drone videos for YouTube for fun and hobby. (35 videos ) so far … Now I am trying to learn DaVinci Resolve and eventually use it for my edits alongside Power Director. I do not color-grade my edits except for two minor things. I do not shoot in D-Log. I shoot in NORMAL COLOR and Auto Settings with my DJI Drones and I'm very happy with the outcome. The two adjustments I use in PD are a one-click Color Enhancement and the old Edge Enhancement (no longer available) now under adjust Sharpness. My question is, is there a simple feature in DaVinci like a one-click to Enhance overall Color and one-click Edge Enhancement (Sharpness) ??? I've been watching your tutorials and others to learn everything about Resolve. Not easy to grasp quickly especially coming from Cyberlink PD. It's gone take some time……. Thank You !!!

Thank you, this is a fantastic beginner guide and for a non-professional like me has made Da Vinci less intimidating.
@ricksilva1126
Wow… thanks for this. Took a lot of the mystery out. Now it does not look that scary. I have a couple of co-workers moving over to this from another one and I was spooked. Going to give it a shot!
@jayc2570
This was great, I used to do video editing back in the 90s with AB roll editors on Umatic tapes and the video toaster 2000 for graphics. Then I had another career that did not involve video editing for the past 20+ years. Now I wanted to to edit a video and I had no idea how people do that these days. Let me just say it is crazy what you can download for free on the internet. Your quick-start was perfect to get me up to speed on the latest video editor. Thanks!
@aukdude
Great for beginners, well explained, detailed – but not tooo complicated – much appreciated, I'll be coming back for more!
@spiritualnest
I can't import my mp4 footage in my Mac. please help me.
@johnhilliard9517
I need your help in solving a problem, I have bought some 3rd party transitions from Envato Elements and each of the help files says to go to, Macintosh HD/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/Fusion/Templates/Edit then transitions. But when I get to the templates file there is nothing in it, it is empty, with no edit or transition folders. I am using an M1 Macbook Pro. What am I doing wrong?
@Bookend
Davinci Resolve kept rejecting my mp4 videos that other programs recognized as good.
@thb5505
